Retrieving Freedom Joins the Got Your 6 Network: Strengthening Our Commitment to Veterans and Military Families
RFI is ecstatic to announce we have joined the Bob Woodruff Foundation’s Got Your 6 Network. This network is a diverse collection of national and local organizations focused on reaching millions of veterans, service members, and their families where they live and work.
Every member organization within the Got Your 6 Network, large or small, is working to address the issues faced by the military-connected community. This network membership is an honor that underscores our commitment to changing lives, one Service Dog at a time.
What This Partnership Means for Retrieving Freedom:
Becoming part of this member network allows us to work alongside other organizations who are just as dedicated as we are to ensuring that military-connected families receive the highest quality support and resources they need to thrive.
“From the beginning, the Bob Woodruff Foundation imagined a network of organizations. The Network would be across the country, sharing resources and knowledge, helping address the issues veterans face—from hunger and housing to mental and physical health,” said Anne Marie Dougherty, CEO of the Bob Woodruff Foundation “That’s exactly what the Got Your 6 Network is today.”
As part of this network, Retrieving Freedom will amplify our work and impact more military-connected families. We will collaborate with other Got Your 6 Network members to identify service gaps and find solutions that truly make a difference. Whether it’s sharing best practices, co-hosting events, or jointly applying for grants, the potential for collaboration is significant.
What does Got Your 6 mean?
“Got Your 6” means “we’ve got your back.” The military saying was coined in World War I by fighter pilots. They were referencing a pilot’s rear of the plane as the six o’clock position. It’s now a popular term that stands for the loyalty and cooperation found in the military community.
Our Network means just that. The Got Your 6 Network partners have the backs of the military-connected communities they serve, just as we have our partner’s backs.
The Got Your 6 Network is made possible with generous support from Craig Newmark Philanthropies.
What This Partnership Means for Retrieving Freedom:
By joining the Got Your 6 Network, Retrieving Freedom will have the opportunity to leverage additional resources and support from a diverse group of partners, all committed to ensuring that Veterans and military families have access to the tools and services they need to succeed.
Our involvement in the Got Your 6 Network also brings visibility to our mission. It highlights the importance of Service Dogs in the recovery and support process for Veterans and children with autism. By joining forces with other respected organizations, we strengthen our voice in advocating for the needs of military families.
Moving Forward Together:
This partnership is a step forward for Retrieving Freedom and will help us achieve a broader impact. We will collaborate with other Got Your 6 Network members
to identify service gaps and find solutions that truly make a difference. Whether it’s sharing best practices, co-hosting events, or jointly applying for grants, the potential for collaboration is significant.
Being part of this network also means we can tap into a larger pool of resources, including funding and expertise, that will enable us to provide even better care and support to our clients. This aligns with our ongoing mission to change lives through the power of Service Dogs, providing Veterans and families with the companionship and assistance they need.
Stay tuned as we embark on this new journey. We look forward to updating you on how this partnership will enhance our efforts and expand the services available to our clients.
