Lyle and Murphy's Story

He was placed with a veteran, Lyle Dean, in November of 2013 as the first veteran graduates with Retrieving Freedom out of the Iowa facility.. The two could be seen at countless RFI events, always ready to help other veterans understand the benefits of a service dog. 

Murphy's Journey

Murphy is a yellow Labrador Retriever who was fostered in Waverly, Iowa by the Meier family. Murphy spent one year of his training in Mrs. Meier's second grade classroom at West Cedar Elementary School in Waverly. During his time there, he assisted students with their reading skills.

In Loving Memory

Lyle and Murphy were inseparable throughout their 8 years together until Murphy's passing in early 2020. He is undoubtedly missed, and made an everlasting impact on all who met him.
