In Loving Memory

June 10, 2019 - September 5, 2019

Sadly, JayLynn passed away from a heart defect. In her short time on Earth, she blessed many lives with her contagious, carefree spirit. JayLynn was able to spend 8 wonderful weeks with her littermates and breeding foster family, as well as two months with her puppy foster family. She attended college classes, many public outings, and spent quality time playing with her older brother, Prince.

Thank you to all who have had an impact throughout JayLynn's life. She will be painfully missed.

Stage 1 Introduction

Hi there! My name is JayLynn. I am thrilled to have been selected to enter into the Retrieving Freedom training program. My parents are "Faith," who is originally from Kerrybrook Labradors and is now fostered by the Sanderman family, and "Olaf," of Ridgeview Labradors. During this stage of training I will be spending approximately 8 months with my new volunteer fosters, Kyle and Skyler.

Throughout Stage 1, I will learn the basics obedience, public behavior, and a lot of socialization. I understand that it takes a very special dog to complete the program as there is a high standard to become a service dog. I am aware that I may be one of the dogs whose purpose is outside of service work so I will be updating my profile on a monthly basis for all that would like to follow my journey through the program.

August 2019 - 2 months old

What an exciting month! I was able to transition from my breeding foster home (thank you, Sanderman family!) to my puppy foster home with Kyle and Skyler. I have been working on potty training, crate training, learning my name (which has lots of meaning to my foster - I am so honored to represent the name), learning to walk on a leash, and playing with my big foster brother, Prince! Prince and I have the same parents, which is fun. I began going to college classes with Skyler, too. I'm real good at snoozing through lectures.

September 2019 - 3 months old

The first few days of September have been wonderful! I continue to go to college classes with Skyler and hang out with my brother Prince. It's nice that he and I are both working toward the same goal of becoming a service dog for someone in need.
